Mom knows how much I love water, so she got me this awesome glass water bottle. I feel so hip. Drink those 8 glasses!!
It’s been a stressful day at work, so I’ve employed a method that the lovely Kathryn introduced me to in order to brighten one’s mood. It’s called: loves. Here’s a short list of what I’m loving lately.
I’ll be honest, I’ve never been a big fan of New Year’s resolutions or anything of the like. I know it’s rather cold and cynical of me, but I always think, “Why do we have to wait until January 1st to attempt something? Today is as much of a start to a new year as any other day.”
But alas, I need to change. So I have resolved for resolution this year.
We’ll see how it goes, but I think it’s a decent start.
Well!! It’s been way too long since Christopher or I have been on here. Let me tell you why: CHRISTMAS VACATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For some reason, Drake decides to let EVERYONE leave for two whole weeks around the “winter season.” It’s so wonderful and the darling Boy saved up enough vacation to take those two weeks off with me!!! Oh and we had a very lengthy list of things to-do.
Guess how much of that we got done? NONE of it!! That’s okay though. We have plenty of cozy living space…and the basement is SCARY!! I don’t want to cuddle down there! Our teeth will be fine, and Chris can just keep squinting.
NOW, let me tell you what we DID get done!!!
So not a whole lot happened during our time off.
But THESE two things did:
1. Was watching the Price Is Right when they brought out a lovely sapphire ring for the 4 players to guess on. Right on down the row, the contestants guessed it’s price. (Now keep in mind that it’s a SAPPHIRE ring. Not a diamond ring). First contestant: “$500″ (good guess! It’s a nice ring…there were diamonds around it! Good!) Second contestant: “$350″ (okay, maybe a little low…it’s really nice) Third contestant: “$575″ (I’m thinking he may be right on the money…not too high, not too low). Fourth contestant (a cute, bubbly sorority girl from UCLA!!!!!!): “Ten Thousand dollars.” (…………………………………………….) Um.
I’m sorry.
What?
And that’s exactly what Drew Carey, the new host of TPIR said.
“What?”
Meekly, she replied, “Ten…thousand?”
And his response, in all it’s sheer delightfulness was: “Well, your board doesn’t go up that high, but we’ll see if we can fit that on there.”
AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA!!! Chris and I were DYING!!!! And the best part was, as they panned away from the four lined up, she was shaking her head slowly to herself. As though she had realized what she had just done.
2nd great moment of break:
My family is wonderful. My family is diverse. My lovely cousin (by marriage), happen to be black, thus, her offspring are adorable little black babies. And she had fun naming them!!! Now, this is the first time I’ve meet her 4 children. Her daughter is D’Asia and the boys have equally unique (read: made-up) names.
I was hanging out with one of her sons who goes by DJ. We were hanging out by the fridge, playing with the magnetic alphabet letters. He was spelling out his name. D-A-R-R-E-L-L. Taking my cue from his SIBLINGS, i said, “OH! DJ is a nickname for daRELL!” He turns and looks at me blankly. “It’s DARell.”
Oh.
Cool.
Yes, I will never assume ANYTHING ever again.
