There You Are!

“There you are!”
“Do I know you?”
“No, but that’s where you are. You’re there!”

Oh, the genius of Mike Meyers. But yes, we are here. For all 7 of you who read this, we must confess we have been poor bloggers. As Eisley-pants has been growing and a-growing it’s getting harder and a-harder to find the time to write. But we wanted to share some happenings.

  1. Eisley loves music! Whenever we play music or strike up the family band, she’s right there blabbering and bubbling. It’s a joyful noise.
  2. Hat weather! The Saldanha’s love fall. Fall means layers and cute hats. Grandma Barb crocheted Eisley a lovely oatmeal fall cap. She looks like quite the lady.
  3. We are rolling! We got back-to-front down, but not front-to-back. This is awesome because Eisley has slightly more to do during playtime. This is not awesome because when Eisley should be falling asleep she just starts a cycle of kicking, rolling, babbling, crying into her mattress, us interceding and putting her on her back, repeat.
  4. Eisley is an all-around dollface. In the morning when we wake her up she’s all smiles. When she sees you she’s all smiles. She is a delight to our souls.

Five months is right around the corner. It’s amazing how fast it has gone. May we cherish every step of the way!

In non-Eisley news, things are busy around the Saldanha house. Katie just landed a role in Cornerstone’s Christmas production (was there any doubt?). She’s also continuing to meet with and mentor a group of college girls. Chris has been getting involved in the high school youth group, and is going to start getting involved in music team on the weekends. It’s safe to say that our weeks have gotten busier, but it’s full of good things. We love where we’re at, even if we have to guard our free nights like Spartans. Things will only get easier as we all grow up.

May the God of understanding grant peace to our hearts! And yours!

Four Whole Months!

I think Autumn is finally all upons! Case in point – I did not order an ICED carmel latte today at Starbucks, but rather, a piping hot one! Halle-to the -lujah!

Well, yesterday marked Eisley’s 4 month birthday. And may I just say, while newborns are delightful and tiny and precious, a FOUR month old is just AWESOME. You can keep your “hoo hooing”…Miss Lady now “glerbbb glerrb…nu nu…dlibdlibdlib”s!! That’s right, Miss Love has found her tongue, her lips, and apparently, her newfound love of jibberish!
She is rolling (almost all the way over by herself), she’s laughing (oh my word, see video below…and get a bucket ready for your heart to melt into), she’s sleeping on her side, she’s grabbing at things like a champ, and she’s sorting through all the college brochures she’s getting in the mail. NO. Wait. Not yet. It just seems that way.

Here’s the four month comparison shot. Delicious, no? Click on it for the full effect

Her features haven’t made too much of a change (not like the drastic changes the first few months), but you can definitely see her looking more and more like a big girl. And I love how her expression is essentially the same in her 3 mo. pic: Sheer elation. That’s my girl.

Oh, and look at this! My wonderful, talented mom made Miss Autumn Beauty her first fall/winter hats! I am tempted to crank the air conditioning to 55 so that I can throw on her little brown sweatshirt and her little hat and drink pumpkin spice lattes.

Here is Daddy’s photo of Miss Lady in hat #1. Man, he’s good at taking photos. Dang.

…aaand here is MY photo of hat #2.  This is probably the softest little sweetie hat you’ll ever feel. She is modeling it with her jammies, so she doesn’t really match. But Cute goes with Cute, right?

And finally, as of last night (Sunday, September 5 for my own personal records), Sweetie Girl officially laughed a guffaw. I was snorgling her cheek/neck region and the most delightful sound we have ever heard came rushing out of her mouth. We got that on video thankfully, but this afternoon, I was “sneaking up on her” and oh man, the laughs came AGAIN! I tell you what, make her laugh my ringtone, my alarm, my doorbell, the sound my oven makes when the timer goes off, EVERYTHING.

This will never ever get old.

I better start working on more material if I want to keep her laughing…
